• This guy was from Valsesia( where my dad's from and where i'm making my research public for a documentary 'alledgedly!!) 'He was responsible for a lot of good in the italian resistance. This guy was a total legend. He practically set up the 'Committee National Liberation', arranged for the roadblocks around the lakes which stopped mussolini geting over the brenner pass, made 100% pickups of weapons dropped by the SAS and arranged for the handover of prisoners as well as heading a task force which saved hundreds of allied prisoners of soldiers lives.

The academic and historian alessandro orsi is going to be my main interviewee in a documentary about pows and the italian partisans who fought 7 german divisions and the valsesi and ossolan brigades that put the roadblocks down which stopped mussolini getting over the brenner pass. These partisans were the BEST. Get it? It was like a communist cosa nostra. do you get this? Its still like this. Want to find out more? Free accomadation in Italy. I'm looking for a writer and researcher. We are going to meet with Beth at Gmac if interested
Christian Zanone changed the group description to "The idea is to make a trip to italy. I want to film the experience. A few things. ANPI glasgow is not political. it's about rememberance, forgiveness and humanitarian things. Its about what happened to ordinary hero rebels from the world over.".

  • Brits and Antipodeans died fighting the Nazi-fascists in Italy near the Italian Swiss Border. Around 450 POWS were saved by being given safe passage across to the relative safety of Switzerland in the Val Sesia area and all were saved by Italian Partisans. One such youngster was my Grandfather who witnessed at close the nazi lynchings, torture and scorched earth policy of both the German army and the italian squadristi of the 'Tagliament0' regiment. Some died along with their partisan colleagues( along with atleast 200 italian partisans) in hand to hand combat in an area only 20km squared. 'William' the scottish partisan died along with some British comrades a few miles from my fathers village and one day Im going to tell his story on film. I'm the only Scottish prescence in the ASSOCIATION OF ITALIAN PARTISANS. So if this of any interest to you please join this group. These people died for a good cause. — with Christian Zanone.
